Serving full-course, nutritious meal to the homeless (April 2018)

Operation Hope, a year-round shelter, provides a safe place to live, meals and case management for families with children and single women. They develop programs and processes to effectively assist the families and the women to regain their independence.

We invite you to join us in this meaningful charitable event. Please note that our monthly schedule has changed to the 4th Saturday of the month.

Since the shelter does not have a big kitchen, we will be bringing pre-cooked food directly to the shelter at 5:00 PM prompt.

See below for our menu and let us know if you would like to join us or donate any of the items listed below for this cooking event. We need to prepare for approximately 40-45 adults and children.

1 pot of Vegetarian Soup (Vân Đỗ)
1 large tray of Vegetarian Fried Rice (Bình Trần’s family)
1 large tray of Vegetarian Stir-Fried Vegetables (Giai & Thu)
60 Vegetarian Egg Rolls (Nick/Triết)
A large tray of mixed fruits (LiLy Đỗ)
Desert - Cream Puff & Sting Cheese (Lợi & Elizabeth )
1 gallon of Milk
1 gallon or 45 bags of juice

Your help and donation are greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much John Giai Nguyen for leading this successful effort this month. This week we have all the queens and the kings cooking and the serving the residents of Operation Hope. Thank you King of Chow-mein (or Fried Rice) Biinh Trran & son, Queen of Soup Van Do & Tommy Do, King & Queen of Stir-Fried Vegetable John Giai Nguyen & Thu, Queen of Fruit Lily Do & sons, newly crowned Prince of Egg Rolls Nguyễn Triết (Nick), King & Queen of Desert Elizabeth & Loi Nguyen, and King & Queen of Drink Kim & Anthony Hoang. All dishes are vegetarian. Per the residents and the shelter's request, the menu is kept the same every month since they are all craving for these types of dishes since their normal meals are heavy in pasta, :-)

We lovingly call these gentlemen and ladies since they always jump in even before the event is created and posted on Facebook or Website. With that, FEF is deeply grateful for your generosity, your time , and your support.

Special thanks to cô Ngoc-Han Nguyen's soon-to-be 18 year-old grandson, Nick, for volunteering to take care for the eggrolls on his own while his aunt had to be out-of-town. Proud of you kiddo. Thank you Lily Do for driving Nick to the event.

Love you all,
